Washington Health Security Trust (WHST) Single Payer Health Care Bill

A Single Payer Health Care bill was introduced in the Washington State 2013 Legislature, House Bill (HB) 1085. The title is Washington Health Security Trust (WHST). The original WHST proposal was written by members of Health Care For All — Washington (http://www.healthcareforallwa.org). HB 1085 is written to be compliant to the Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which makes WHST ready for a request to the Federal Government for use as a health care plan in Washington State in 2017. The companion bill is SB 5224.

Our Goal Is To Fill The Meeting Room!

On Friday, Feb 1st, at 1:30 pm, there will be a public hearing on HB 1085. We need as many people to attend as possible.

  • WHEN: Friday, Feb 1st, at 1:30
  • WHERE: Capitol in Olympia
    • O’Brien Building.
    • Hearing Room B

The best way to go to Olympia from Pierce County is to take Intercity Transit bus 603. It leaves:

  1. Downtown Tacoma at 11:55 am
  2. Tacoma Dome Station at 12:02 pm
  3. SR 512 Park & Ride at 12:20 pm
