  • Event will take place on the Second Anniversary of the US Supreme Court decision on Citizens United vs FEC.
  • Message: Get money out of politics.
  • Protest will include a funeral procession for Lady Liberty as well as visuals of puppets (15′ tall judge, some corporate robots), colorful timeline re history of Supreme Court decisions & corporate personhood.
  • Human chain that is candle-lit or LED-lights lit, hand to hand from the Courthouse to Occupation Park, possibly with people there all signing the amendment that will end up being hung around the neck of the “man with suitcase” in front of the Courthouse
  • Message (Get money out of politics) with people holding 8-1/2 x 11 pieces of paper, each piece with one huge letter on it.
  • Some “pre-function functions” earlier in the week (Saturday and Tuesday) — teach-in and workshops
  • Convened by Move to Amend Olympia. Other groups participating include Involved Democracy (Enumclaw), People for Peace Justice & Healing, United for Peace of Pierce County, Occupy Tacoma, Wash Clean (aka Washington Public Campaigns).  We’re going to try to get some environmental groups and church-folks at the table as well.
  • Next meeting is this coming Tuesday at Occupation Park Community Tent, 5pm.
