This is getting better and better! My 2 cents:

In solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and countless other Occupy movements across the world, Occupy Tacoma is part of a peaceful and nonviolent movement after the tradition of great activists of our past, fighting to end the corporate abuse of Democracy.

Our mission is to identify and implement solutions to rebuild a healthy and thriving community for everyone. We are here to combat corporate media silence and propaganda; bringing attention to the disastrous impact of corporate activity upon our political and economic systems at personal, local, state, national and global levels by exercising our Constitutional rights to free speech and assemblage.

I think the _CURRENT_ mission statement should be the domain of the work group assigned the function of developing the statement and that outside comments should be welcomed. But the current "mission statement" should be made available as a menu item on "about us" on the main page. Then again, it may already have "visibility" somewhere and I just don't know where to find it. Maybe there should never be a "final draft".

Hi TM, I forgot where I saw it as well, and Cheryl reminded us in the Editorial Board area. If you select the [ABOUT US] tab at the bottom of the rotating banner it shows up. Maybe a more explicit implementation would be to include MISSION in that tab? Maybe it's ok the way it is though I have no strong opinion either way.

Just a link to a Michael Moore OWS workgroup proposal that this workgroup might like to read and discuss.

I like the current mission statement. Think it described our movement in the best possibly way. Keeping in mind that we are not against corporations or being rich. Think some of what I read missed that? Also I think we should have a tab on the web site for easy access to mission statement....
